The location of a hoarding decides how many people see it and how well they can read it. A well-chosen site can outperform a larger board on a weak road.
Start with your audience
Think about who you want to reach and where they travel. Office-goers, families and students all use different roads. In Delhi NCR, busy corridors such as ring roads, expressways and main market junctions each draw a different crowd.
Site checklist
- Traffic flow: how many people pass, and at what speed.
- Viewing distance: can people read the board from far enough away?
- Direction: does the board face oncoming traffic?
- Height and clear sightline: no trees, poles or flyovers blocking the view.
- Lighting: is the board lit for evening and night?
- Nearby competition: too many boards in one spot reduce impact.
Visit the site
Ask for current photos and, if you can, visit at different times of day. A site that looks good at noon may be hidden at night, or blocked by parked vehicles in the evening.
Mistakes to avoid
- Choosing only by price.
- Putting too much text on the board.
- Picking a site that is far from your customers.
- Booking for too short a period to build recall.
Frequently asked questions
How many hoardings do I need?
It depends on your goal. A local shop may need one or two near it, while a city-wide campaign needs several across key roads.
